[1] Ephraim Katz, The Film Encyclopedia (2005), states that Bassermann died in a "air crash over the Atlantic." This is in error. The contemporary issue of Time magazine, 26 May 1952, states that the actor died "of a heart attack, soon after his plane from the U.S. landed in Z�rich, Switzerland."
