In 2012, wrote an extremely biased piece intending to minimize the US Government's role in the creation of the Internet. He fabricates a history which does not exist, one of the Internet flourishing "in spite of" the government's control, where the reality is that private enterprise -- telephone companies, Compuserve, AOL, even companies such as Digital Equipment Corporation -- had little interest in connecting separate network fiefdoms until the 1990s. Fundamental errors in the article, including the entire thesis, are certainly deliberate, and must draw into question all of Stossel's reporting and motives.
