REVIEWS Review by Anonymous (posted on 5-May-2007) I saw this movie years ago when I was thirteen, and I have always, and still have, found it charming and amusing. I was very suprised that Tom Cruise was in it, whose usually in action or sci-fi flicks (Mission Impossible, War of the Worlds)and that his Irish accent was very sucky! :p. Nicole Kidman was awesome as a feisty, determined Irishwoman wanting to travel to America, and having a love/hate relationship with Irishman Joseph Donnelly (Cruise) throughout the film. Thomas Gibson (of Dharma & Greg fame) was very convicing as sly, troublesome Stephen Chase. What I liked about this film was it's quirky and historical moments, and beautiful lanscape of the graceful, green hills of Northern Ireland. The part I REALLY liked was when Joseph was wounded and was seen fully nude lying in bed, (when its a 1:00 a.m on the weekends, and your a boy-crazed teenage girl watching that scene, that would make your smile grin like the Chesire cat, like mine did!) Overall, I give this film an A-, and that Ron Howard should have gotten more credit or an award for this work of art.
